Math

Division – is the total amount of objects in the total amount of groups and we are looking to find the amount of objects in each group.

Division can be found in real life experiences.

Science

What is a machine?

Work – the use of force to move an object across a distance

Simple machines – have only one or two parts. They help make the work easier.

Six examples of Simple machines:

  1. wheel and axle – a round object attached to a post called an axle. Turning the wheel causes the axle to turn. The axle turns a small distance as a wheel turns a greater distance. Ex: Steering Wheel
  2. wedge – made from two slanted sides that end in a sharp edge. As a wedge is pushed through material such as wood or food, it cuts or splits the material in half. Ex: ax
  3. lever – a stiff bar that rests on a support. It is used to lift or move things. Ex: See Saw
  4. inclined plane – a ramp, slanted surface. Less force is needed to move an object over a longer distance.
  5. pulley – it can decrease the amount of force needed to move an object. It can also change the direction that the force is applied. ex: window blind
  6. screw – an inclined plane wrapped around a center post. Screws can be used to hold things together and to raise and lower things. Ex: Lightbulb

Religion

We are learning all about changing for Jesus. We are participating in confession to confess our sins for the preparation of a new life after Jesus’ resurrection.
