Dear Parents and Guardians,
“Jesus Christ is risen! Alleluia!! Alleluia!!
Happy Easter and welcome back to the building. We welcome the month of April; traditionally the month of showers but for Catholics we celebrate the risen Lord and rejoice during these 50 days of Easter. The building is adorned with articles of spring and new life; constant reminders to our students that Christ is truly risen and alive in our hearts and in our building.
As previously announced, the students in grades 4, 6 & 7 will take the NYS Test beginning with ELA. The students will be tested only on book 1 which means the testing will take place only on one day.
For students in Cohort A – the test will take place on Tuesday 4/20 and students in Cohort B – Wednesday 4/21. It is very important that students are present on time for the test as we will only hold it on the days indicated above.
Students should be well rested the night before and eat a nutritious breakfast in the morning. There will be no homework assigned for the students testing the night before the exam. We want our students to be relaxed and ready to test.
Please save the date – Saturday May 22nd. Members of the Board will be holding a special “Sip and Paint” night for our parents. This will be a fundraiser for the Academy so we hope to have as many parents participating as possible. More details will be shared shortly.
Lastly, as a reminder re-registration is currently underway. If you have not re-registered we ask that you do so as soon as possible. We are also in the process of registering new students and want to ensure your child has a seat. It is our expectation that we will return to a full time traditional setting in September, but to date there has been no definitive decision. We are expecting to make an announcement regarding the fall schedule before we close out in June.
If you have any questions regarding registration or financial aid, please do not hesitate to call the school office.

Welcome to St. Catherine of Genoa ~ St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Academy.
St. Catherine of Genoa ~ St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Academy is a Catholic community of students, teachers, parents and staff working collaboratively to create a safe, caring, supportive, innovative and academically challenging environment for your child. This community fosters individual spiritual growth and self-esteem while promoting respect, understanding and appreciation across cultures. Also, we like to have fun!
One of the goals of our program is to prepare students for a successful and rewarding future by developing their academic and interpersonal skills while fostering and enriching their Catholic faith. As our Mission Statement says:
“We prepare each student to live a life of faith and integrity able to serve actively and justly in the Church and world.”
Therefore, we provide instruction in religion, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, art, music and physical education. In addition, there are visitors (parents and other community members), assemblies, field trips and other enrichment activities that enhance and enrich our classroom instruction.
Respect for diversity and the ability to function effectively in different cultures are fundamental to our program. We continue to have wonderful opportunities for students to integrate technology in all curriculum areas as our students use Laptops, Ipads and access to our state of the art Computer Lab. Along with our equipment we are implementing a new STEM Lab. STEM is more than just a grouping of subject areas. It is a movement to develop the deep mathematical and scientific foundation students need to be competitive in the 21 st century workforce.
The staff, parents and students of St. Catherine of Genoa ~ St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Academy believe
that our school allows the ability, flexibility and latitude to provide innovative curriculum development and an outstanding instructional program. The exciting educational experience here at St. Catherine of Genoa ~ St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Academy reflects the wonderful relationship between the students, parents and school staff, as well as the surrounding community according to our Catholic faith.
We are all partners for your child’s success!
