February News 2021

Dear Parents and Guardians,

February is here!!! It’s a shorter month; still it is busy with events. We celebrate Black History Month and Catholic School’s Week. The children will continue to learn about the many prominent African Americans who have made outstanding contributions to our society and to Theater, Sports and The Arts.

Please see the schedule of events for Catholic School’s Week attached to this notice. Our students are very fortunate to attend a Catholic School and we want to spend the week celebrating and taking a step back from the constant dreadful news. It will be a week of positivity and fun!

We will have a special assemble Wednesday & Thursday 2/3 & 2/4 to recognize those students who received honors for the 1st Trimester. We will also award those students selected for Student of the Month and ACE.

**Progress Reports will be available via Option C on Tuesday Feb. 9th**

MIDWINTER RECESS SCHOOL CLOSED 2/15/21 – 2/17/21-2/19/21 (No In person or Hybrid schedule) REOPENS 2/2/21 – Regular Hybrid Schedule Resumes

Students will be given a brief Black History Project to complete during the week (students should be able to complete in 1-2 days).

Wednesday February 17th Ash Wednesday – We enter into the holiest season of the church; Lent.
Although we are closed, all Catholics are required to attend Mass. We will provide details of virtual services and provide information regarding Ash distribution prior to the 17th.

Re-registration for current families will begin in February and we will share early bird registration incentives and lottery info very shortly.

Registration (New Families) If you know of any family or friends interested in registering their children at our Academy, please ask them to call the school office for more information and details. New and perspective families are invited to visit during our “Virtual Touring Tuesdays”. We are in the process of launching a new Virtual Touring option in lieu of in person tours. Reminder if you refer a student who registers for the new school year, you are eligible for a $250 tuition credit (once all payments are made from the new family).

Lastly, we will be sending home a survey regarding a Nursery program we are exploring to open in the fall. Your input is invaluable so please respond once the survey is sent out!

Sincerely,
Principal Charles
