PRE-K PARENTS

We welcome you to our school community! We wish your child a consistent and successful school career.  We are mailing you a copy of the schedule for Pre-K students for the first three days of school.  If you do not receive a letter in the mail, please call school -718-629-9330 Together, we can make your child’s learning experience a very positive and successful one.

For kindergarten — 8th Grade parents

School begins: Wed. 9/3 for grades K - 8 - Arrival - Between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM

LATENESS FOR ALL GRADES: –  8:10 AM

WHERE TO LINE UP ON THE FIRST THREE DAYS:

NICE DAYS: Grades K-2—small yard    Grades 3-8 - big yard

RAINY DAYS: All grades - arrival/dismissal—Auditorium

FULL DAYS - Wed. 9/3, Thurs. 9/4 - Dismissal 3:00 PM –NO AFTER SCHOOL - STUDENTS MUST BRING LUNCH

HALF DAY: Fri. 9/5 - Dismissal - 11:50 amFOR K - 8            

Please pick up students promptly on half days. There are times when we are not in the building on half days.

Dept.of Ed Bus Service begins on Mon. 9/8:

If buses are not there, please let us know.

FULL DAY SESSIONS:Begin Mon. 9/8 - PRE-K –8 GRADES GO TO THE AUDITORIUM -Dismissal 3:00 PM

After School and Lunch Program begin 9/8

Free Breakfast program begins - Tuesday, 9/9

  • · Activity/General Fee Letter - $225  per child  - due 9/6
  • · Yellow Bus Letters - due 9/6
  • · After School Applicationsdue 9/6
  • · Nutrition Applications  – due 9/6

TUES. 9/9: Breakfast Program begins - 7:30 AM - 7:50 AMNOTE: The building OPENS AT 7:30 AM. For safety reasons no child will be admitted into the building before 7:30 AM

ATTENTION PARENTS: Children learn best when parents take an active part in their learning.

1. Ask them about their day.
2. Read with/to your child every night.
3. Limit the use of technology.
4. Meet with teachers to learn how your child is doing.
5. Sign homework planners, and test papers.
6. Come to evening meetings and report card night.
7. Set a place in the house where your child can put all notices.
8. Read, sign and return notices that need to be returned.

All of these things help your child understand that school is important.

 Most importantly, pray with your children and take them to church.  They need to know they are part of a larger
community.
